I've always fancied keeping a fishing journal, but never quite got round to it. Instead I've been producing this regular blog, as much for my own benefit as anything, but maybe if you love fishing as much as me a few bits and pieces will be of interest. I practice catch and release so every fish that is shown on this blog was safely released back to the water after capture.

The rod performed beautifully and I had a lot of fun working lures through the tail of a nice weirpool at the top of the stretch. It's very much family time, so I didn't actually do a huge amount of fishing. When I did get a chance the fishing was pretty tough. We carried on a bit further and Gary picked up a couple of Jacks, until we came to a tree-lined bay that just shouted "Perch". On went some tiny lures, a 2cm Salmo silver and blue crankbait for me, and a Yo-Zuri snap bean for Gary. The Lake nestles in a beautiful valley between the Black Mountains and The Brecon Beacons.
